DON McCULLIN

Tate Britain stages a retrospective of Don McCullin’s work. A selection of photographs from Cold Heaven feature in the exhibition at Tate Britain 5 February – 6 May 2019 and Tate Liverpool 5 June – 27 September 2020

‘It is exciting to see photographs from Cold Heaven: Don McCullin on AIDS in Africa - a powerful portrait of people and communities living through a humanitarian disaster - at the Tate’ said Julia Fairrie.

‘It was a privilege to work alongside Don McCullin, who is a master at capturing the full complexity of a situation whilst maintaining the dignity of his subject. Social documentary photography is a powerful medium for telling stories and raising awareness about important issues’ she said.
